Borescopes are limited to what you can see through accessible ports and along their limited line of sight. The engine contains many areas that are blocked by bearings, structures, and other components, plus some regions are behind modules or inside hot sections that can’t be viewed safely or from a single access point. Even with different borescope types, you can’t image every internal cavity or hidden passage. Because a complete internal inspection requires exposing and removing parts to view all surfaces, a borescope alone cannot inspect the entire internal portion of the engine.
